So,when I got strawberries in the grocery store of my new neighborhood,I just bought a packet to just eat them sometime in evening, however the they were destined to be treated better 🙂 …I love this fruit…its sweet, like a candy, but at the same time slightly tangy, and sour. they have a grainy but smooth taste….In fact I can say I am having experiences like strawberries this year… Hmm quite a good metaphor!

So here come my quick Strawberry and Cream Recipe…

I took 1 cup heavy whipping cream(Amul fresh cream,to be more specific :),
1/3 cup sugar,
then I took some fresh strawberries, washed them, remove the stems, and put them in the food processor until they become a thick liquid,
Whipped cream until it looks like whipped cream,
Mixed in sugar,
Mix in strawberries until just combined,
And finally topped it up with cut pieces of strawberries and kept it freezer for 10 minutes before I put a big spoon of dessert in my mouth…it was heaven… ❤

PS.I have an illustrated picture for your reference 🙂

2011 in review

The stats helper monkeys prepared a 2011 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

The concert hall at the Syndey Opera House holds 2,700 people. This blog was viewed about 11,000 times in 2011. If it were a concert at Sydney Opera House, it would take about 4 sold-out performances for that many people to see it.

awesome lunch!

It could not have been a more better day!

Last Sunday when me and my Canadian friends Kally,Sally and Sonia were picked up by Shirley,my friend at workplace,to first shop for groceries at Reliance Fresh on the way and then cook and eat too 😉

It was planned on Saturday, and I was really not sure if I could really cook with perfection, since no cooking happening since I moved to this new place where I get to eat food made by the cook. I was excited and so were my friends…though I made a boundary beforehand that the food might not turn out well…but this never dampened their spirits!

We reached Shirley’s place by 11:45 and met her ever sweet mother in law,and the 25 days old puppy Tommy, who was so much excited to see all the pretty ladies around him. Shirley’s big house has two big aquariums and three ponds outside full of fishes…coconut trees, mango tress in the backyard and a big kitchen were we were allowed to experiment 😉 our culinary skills. It was such a pleasant change!

Thanks to my experience in outsourcing 😉 activities of peeling and chopping onion and garlic was happily implemented by Sonia, taking out mint and coriander leaves by Kally and Sally. And rest of the initial preparations were managed by me,Shirley and her MIL.

Then began the real cooking, accompanied by me acting as the host of a cooking show 😉 and my viewers and cameramen being the ever enthusiastic trio! In some time we had a good spread of food ready which included matar paneer, palak daal, basmati rice, cucumber raita, potato fry,and fresh mint chutney…and trust me the food was really good :):D And while we were busy eating what we made,Shirley’s MIL made fresh grape juice and mango juice for us…

We could have asked for nothing more:) It was an awesome lunch!

What will happen tomorrow?will I be able to do it again, what I did last time?

To be honest,I do not know 😛

Okay, let me make myself clear…its about my status tomorrow in swimming pool, when I will be told to jump in pool without swimming tube…I have been practicing with submersible tube in my last six classes and have also been observing others who were scared too when it was their turn as it will be mine tomorrow.

Last class, the trainer asked me to remove the tube and prompted me to cross the pool, and I crossed the pool from one side to other,on the shallower portion…however I am not sure how I did it :P,it just happened by fluke, did I really swim and can I swim again????

That’s a million dollar question, whose answers I will get in pool itself, and that’s what I am so scared about 😦

I was just watching some you tube videos for swimming lessons, when my roommate, who knows swimming, said it’s so funny 😀 ,but then I can see thousand of videos and thousand page visits there,so I am not funny alone 😛 😉

I know its funny to learn swimming online :P,but there are many professionally made videos out there and my only reason to see them was that extra preparation,so that I do not fail err drown 😦 😛

I feel very sleepy when I finish swimming, however the nigh before, that is today I have lost my sleep…

Now I can do nothing ,but sleep and go for swimming classes in morning…

Wish me luck!

P.S.I am sure I will be dreaming about swimming toning 😛

I see beauty here!

When I witness the golden sunset over the amber hills...when I gaze at the moon shinning so bright in the night...when I stand still at the seashore and the cool breeze caresses me...and that sweet smell of soil before it rains...
I see beauty,awesome beauty,real beauty!

God took the soil and created homo sapiens, the masterpiece, whose beauty is incomparable...we have consciousness and thought, motivation and emotion,we fall in love and feel the pain and I see divine artistry here!

The Supreme being paints each sunrise and each sunset with his hand on his canvas, called universe...he took all the love within his heart and gave us beauty in abundance...

I find beauty in an innocent smile,deep-set eyes,a loving hug, helping hands, soothing song,in fact in anything or anybody as beauty is not restricted in nature,it is up to individual to decide and feel, what is beautiful...

For a mother,a child will be always beautiful, whatsoever others think...
For a potter beauty lies in his wheel...for a farmer its the rain...for hungry it is the food...for lonely it is the company...
It is just the perception and the situation which decides what we see beauty in...

let our thought be free...and realize everything is beautiful in its' own way
The beauty of summer is heat, the beauty of winter is cold, the beauty of fall is dying life, the beauty of spring is the birth of nature...the earth is the real beauty, the air we breathe in is the real beauty, the water which quenches our thirst is the real beauty!

Beauty is in you and me,like a love in its flowing song, forever to become free and inside for evermore to long...

Beauty, they say, is in the eyes of the beholder
It’s everywhere
Beauty is in everything,
If you search for it!

it’s okay

I am a kind of person who believes it is very unfair to make generalized assumptions about anything, specifically human beings.

Many a times I am into serious conversations with people, asserting, how one should not have pre-conceived notion about somebody just because you inferred something from somebody similar. Its is very natural for every body I guess to have experiences good as well as bad with people we interact in day to day life and then consciously or sub-consciously create an image about a class of people,by just having an experience of few from that class.

By class I mean anything;it can be men having opinion about women, women on men,one generation of people on another, people from one state on people of another state, people speaking language-x on people speaking language-y,students of college-a on students of college-b,residents of country-I on residents of country-P,etc etc etc...The list will be never ending, isn't it?

I hope all will agree, many a times we all make such comments and or frame certain opinions and also many a times differ from somebody on their opinions, and all this is very much humane,I would say!

Now,why am I justifying it,you would wonder!Well that's because though I myself refrain from such generic assumption because of interaction with few corrupted samples out a big lot, however I have also realized there is some sort of genuine truth behind any such opinion;because after all, when there is a class of people,it means they are/were part of some sort of common upbringing, environment, society, education, culture, influences etc etc. and then there has to be some impact of these on humankind.

And we are sometimes pointing fingers at others and sometimes fingers are pointed at us,and this is my mortal limit of understanding in this regard.

And I feel it's okay, and many a times such experiences gives us as opportunity to be both rationale and irrational;introspection and accusations;feel and make-feel,see and show...laugh at or being laughed about...learn or make others learn a about someone or be someone talked about...its a game where you are the player as well as spectator!

Felt bad!

Last month when I fell down from the stairs,I took full one week off from office as such was the situation for me,though thankfully I had no fracture !In fact many of of my well wishers  advised me to not go to office for couple of more days, but then I thought I was okay and so…However today its not about me… with what I started!

Today it is about the poor and old John, the parking lot in-charge,where  park my car.He is old but is very active and had been very helpful to me all these days, and though my knowledge of Tamil is equal to his knowledge of English,we manage to convey what we intend.

I did not see him in morning today and was quite late while returning, thanks to new acquired professional responsibilities. When I reached the parking lot,I saw his right hand with cast and was sitting quite, which was not like daily. As I told earlier,he will be very active, moving from one corner to other, helping people to take out their vehicles.

I went and asked him, what happened,he told me,how he fell down from stairs yesterday night, and while he was saying,I noticed, how he sighed with pain!

I felt really bad and there was a heavy feeling all the way back to my place,as I kept thinking of my status being so privileged, when compared to old John…who had to come for work even when he has a fractured hand and pain was so much visible.

I know, there are more worse situations than these around, however this was for the first time I could feel the pinch and the gaps between two human beings.

The concern and empathy I felt is not leaving me somehow…!

In the morning, when I just didn’t have an iota energy to get out of bed and start for office,a thought process, which at many times acts like ‘REDBULL’ energy drink, again made me come to office today!

When I have to go for work(daily 😛 ),sometimes in situation of bad mood or bad health(cold, cough, headache situation being common 😦 ),I just feel ‘BAD’ and life continues…,but whenever I take leave be it planned or sick leave or its weekend off,I feel good and relaxed on those days…

……..And when I have to start for office after that leave, it makes me feel ‘MORE BAD’ 😦    😛

As soon as this is thought of,I instantly decide to allow myself to feel ‘BAD’ rather than ‘MORE BAD’ 😉 😛  🙂

I know I know this sounds STUPID,but this is how it works for me… ‘SOMETIMES’ 😛  😉

Today when I was giving this GYAN to my colleague here,he had a GOOD laugh,so thought, lets enlighten others too 😛 🙂

Happy Working!

Awful Saturday January 2010

Extraordinary Life of an Ordinary… June 2010

read my profile… May 2010

Me and My rendezvous with languages… June 2010

latest trend ;)

Somewhere I read, put on something you really like or something new, and there are chances of drastic reduction in awfulness of a Monday morning, so I had a pair of new shoes to slip my feet into, and there I was ready to start my day…last Monday, to be specific.

While walking towards office from parking lot, I happened to look at my feet, to realize that I have not worn one of my shoes properly, as in left one had a kind of round strip showing in between and the other one not, I adjusted my right foot a little with intention to take it out from the right, but in vain…why so I thought, then again when I had a look on both my feet, I realized both are different in design 😛 and I am there outdoors wearing them, after a plan to lessen my Monday morning blues…and just imagine, somebody seeing me with all my bewildered expressions, and awkward feet movements, on the road.

So this is the result of shopping in evening in ‘Dilli Haat’ :P…they were bought after so much bargaining and I kept them unused for 1 month before wearing them only to find out what a fool I made of myself 😦

One can’t make out easily/casually if they are really not the matching pair as they have the same basic design, I marched ahead confidently to my office and shared it with one of my friend there to be advised (with all the giggles) that wear them anyway, they are really nice and if someone notices, say it’s the latest trend 😉 LOL: D.

P.S.People don’t stare at my feet now :P,I have many other pairs of shoes ;):)
